CHILD
Empowering the Children’s Industry for a Generation that Reads, Plays, and Thrives
Membaca tanpa jemu. Menjadi orang berilmu.
Arau CHILD — Children’s Industry, Lifelong Learning and Development Hub — is a Malaysian social enterprise dedicated to strengthening the children’s industry through professional training, consulting, and partnerships.
We work with educators, creative teams, businesses, and communities to design better products, services, and experiences for children — rooted in literacy, play, wellbeing, and inclusion.
Our guiding philosophy is the Arau Approach, developed by Dr. Bustam Kamri, a pioneer of children’s education in Malaysia.
The Arau Approach rests on three enduring pillars:
-
Child-first perspective — understanding the world through the eyes of children
-
Community inclusion — nurturing ecosystems that involve families, society, and industry
-
Long-term vision — planning for a 50–100 year horizon for child wellbeing
What We Do
CHILD connects industry and community through:
-
Training & Consulting: Building industry proficiency in understanding and serving children
-
Content Creation: Co-developing age-appropriate, culturally grounded materials for learning and play
-
Community Projects: Demonstrating inclusive practices through real-world initiatives
We strengthen the industries that shape how children learn, play, and thrive.
The Arau Approach
